Why Are There So Many Hipsters This Close to Foothills Hospital?

Sitting just below the University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital, and The Alberta Children's Hosital, the quiet, unprepossessing neighbourhood of Montgomery has recently been host to roving packs of Hipsters. Which is strange for a neighbourhood where most people have jobs.
What Is A Hipster?
Good question! There's a lot of varying definitions of them. But basically, you take your grandpa's old Cabbie hat, a plaid shirt, a Macbook, chunky plastic-frame glasses (whether needed or not), skinny jeans, “old school” Converse high-tops, some Pabst Blue Ribbon, and a snarky loathing of everything functional and mainstream and... BAM! Instant Hipster.
Basically, this guy.
Why Are There So Many Here? There's Just A University and A Hospital Nearby!
Well, a big part of it actually is the proximity the Centro Motel has to the University of Calgary, and the Foothills Hospital, and how easy it is to bike down the Children's Hospital Hill to get here from University Residences. It's even an easy ride if you're on a bike with a single gear, as many hipsters are. The other reason is the number of good, but relatively unknown coffee houses that are in the area. Those things are like catnip to a Hipster.
There Goes The Neighbourhood?
Actually, no. Hipsters are by definition obsessed with things that are new and cool. That is, things that are cool enough to be recognized as cool, but haven't quite become common knowledge yet. When Hipsters start frequenting a neighbourhood for the first time, it's pretty much guaranteed to become a cool hangout for pretty much everyone else soon after.
