The 3rd Viessmann Luger World Cup at Canada Olympic Park
Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 07:42PM What a bunch of Lugers. I'm sorry, I had to get it out of my system before I wrote the rest of this. If you;re looking for some high-speed spectacle this weekend Canada Olympic Park, our neighbours up the road from Motel Village, are hosting the 3rd Viessmann Luge World Cup.
Not a big Luge fan? Don't know what a Luge is? Don't worry, I got you covered.
So, as you can see, it's basically Extreme Tobogganing Except On Ice Not Snow. These are the best Lugers in the world, and they will be routinely hitting speeds in excess of 120 Km/h. It promises to be a pretty good time already, but there's an added layer of awesome to this event.
As if we needed more awesome here.
The YYC Food Trucks will be in attendance, spaced out along the track. While the event itself is free, you shoud bring some cash to sample some of the excellent truck-made food on hand. I can personally recommend Blamwich and Fries and Dolls as fantastic choices.
The Women's Race is this Friday at 6:00 and 7:15, the Men's Race is this Saturday at 3:30 and 5:00, and finally the Doubles race is this Saturday at 6:30 and 7:40. For more information check out www.luge.ca
