Dinosaurs Alive at the Calgary Zoo

The Calgary Zoo has always been famous for its Prehistoric Park. But, now there’s a new exhibit at the Calgary Zoo that’s been bringing in quite a few guests for us here at the Centro Motel. The Dinosaurs Alive exhibit is composed of 20 animatronic dinosaurs, all programmed to move, roar and growl realistically. Now, as cool as that sounds it actually gets cooler. Some of the dinosaurs are activated by infrared sensors, and the others are remote controlled by the guests at specific kiosks.

As you can probably tell from the video, everyone at the zoo is pretty excited about this exhibit. This is good, because if I had a 40 ft long and 13 ft high, remote controlled, robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex at my disposal I’d likely have to start wearing diapers. While the T-Rex is obviously a pretty big draw, there’s another 19 animatronic dinosaurs to check out. But, don’t feel like you have to rush, you have until October 31st to get to the Zoo. Just to help you get in the mood, here's a free colouring book, courtesy of the Calgary Zoo.
